Hello everyone.

It's Miss Doherty.

Today, we're going to write the ending to a recycled story.

In this lesson, you will need an exercise book or paper and a pencil.

You can pause the video now while you go and get your things ready.

We're going to start today's lesson by singing.

Then we'll revisit the recycled story and talk about it and finally, we'll write the ending to the story.

Let's sing our Goldilocks song again.

Can you remember the actions? ♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks, ♪ ♪ what shall I do today ♪ ♪ maybe I'll swim ♪ ♪ maybe I'll surf ♪ ♪ maybe in the sand I'll play ♪ ♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks ♪ ♪ what shall I do to today ♪ ♪ maybe I'll swim ♪ ♪ maybe I'll surf, maybe in the sand I'll play ♪ One more time.

♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks ♪ ♪ what shall I do today ♪ ♪ maybe I'll swim ♪ ♪ maybe I'll surf ♪ ♪ maybe in the sand I'll play ♪ Well done.

In our last two lessons, we have been telling and then writing our recycled story.

Our recycled story is all about Goldilocks and we've changed our setting to a beautiful golden sandy beach, where the waves crash against the shore.

In our story, Goldilocks lives in a cave and she walks every day along the shore, singing her song, ♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks.

♪ ♪ what shall I do today ♪ ♪ maybe I'll swim ♪ ♪ maybe I'll surf ♪ ♪ maybe in the sand I'll play ♪ She sings that song every day as she walks along the shore.

And one day as she's walking and singing, she noticed something glistening in the sand.

She looks down, she bends down to pick it up, but it moves away from her.

She runs as fast as she can, until she grabs the star with both hands.

She takes it home to her cave.

But the next morning, when she wakes up, she realised that the star is not as bright as it was yesterday.

It's not as shiny or as shimmery.

It's become dim.

It's losing it's light.

So she takes it out into the sun.

And as she takes it out into the sun, the star starts to wriggle.

It tries to escape.

Goldilocks is feeling sad.

She wants the star to stay in her cave.

They sit in the sun, but the star doesn't seem to be getting any brighter.

She sees someone walking towards her.

Is that a little girl in a dress? As the figure gets closer, she realises it's Baby Bear.

Baby Bear asks her what's wrong.

And Goldilocks tells Baby Bear all about the star that she's taken to her cave, but that's losing it's light.

Baby bear asks her, did you ask the star if it wanted to come to your cave? And Goldilocks realises that she hadn't and she shouldn't have just taken the star without asking.

She opens her hands and asks the star if it wants to go back to the sea.

The star nods it's top point and Goldilocks carries the star back to the shore.

She lays it on the sand and although she feels sad, she knows she's done the right thing.

Every day Goldilocks walks along the beach singing her song, ♪ Goldilocks, Goldilocks ♪ ♪ what shall I do today ♪ ♪ maybe I'll swim ♪ ♪ maybe I'll surf, maybe in the sand I'll play ♪ And every day she sees a twinkling bright star in the sand or in the sea, waving at her as if to say, thank you for taking me home.

Using the box up plan on the screen, can you pause your video now to retell the story? Let's write the ending together.

Just like in our previous lessons, I'm going to read to you and then we're going to say the word, robot the word, and write the missing words.

Goldilocks asked the star if it wanted to be back in the sea.

Yes, nodded the star.

Hmm.

Yes is a word that we do just have to know.

Yes.

Y E S spells yes.

Have you written yes down? Great.

Goldilocks felt sad.

Poor Goldilocks.

Goldilocks felt sad.

Let's say the word felt, felt.

Robot the word, f, e, l, t, felt.

Write the word.

Pause the video now while you write the word, felt.

Let's check our writing.

f, e, l, t, felt, fantastic.

Goldilocks felt sad.

Say the word, sad.

Robot the word, s, a, d, sad.

Write the word.

Pause the video now while you write the word, sad.

Let's check that writing s, a, d, sad, fantastic.

Goldilocks felt sad because she had wanted the star to be in her cave with her but she realised that she had no right to take the star back to her cave.

She put, put, hmm.

put is spelt P U T.

She put the star down, say the word, down.

Robot the word, d, ow, n, down.

Write the word down.

Pause the video now while you write the word, down.

Let's check our writing.

d, ow, n, down, fantastic.

She put the star down on the shore and every day from then on, as she went for her walk and sang her song, the star twinkled and waved as if to thank her for bringing it home.

Well done.

Thank you for helping me write the ending of our story.

Now you're going to do some writing independently.

Can you write a word, sentence or paragraph to tell the end of the story.

Pause the video now while you do that and resume once you're finished.

That's the end of our story writing unit.

Well done for all of your hard work.

Have a lovely day.

Bye bye.
