In this unit pupils will describe how objects are grouped and will represent equal groups as repeated addition and multiplication. In the future unit pupils will represent the 2x and 10x table in different ways using 2x/10x table to solve problems. They will explain the relationship between adjacent multiples of 2/10 and that factor pairs can be written in any order.

In the prior unit pupils extended their counting to counting the decade numbers and made representations using a variety of different manipulatives. In this unit pupils will describe how objects are grouped and will represent equal groups as repeated addition and multiplication.
