In ‘Significant individuals: how did they change the world?’ pupils learnt about six significant individuals from different periods to develop their chronological and substantive understanding. In ‘Stone Age Britain: what do archaeologists think they know about it?’ they begin to investigate more ways in which we know about the past.

In ‘Queen Victoria: how did Britain change during her lifetime?’ pupils built on their chronological and substantive knowledge in a depth study of Queen Victoria and Victorian Britain. In ‘Significant individuals: how did they change the world?’ they encounter six significant individuals from different periods to develop this further.

These stories of significant individuals from different periods help students understand when change has occurred due to individual agency. They learn about the diversity of those who have brought about change and gain a broader sense of history and curiosity about the past.
