How can we add to our emotions toolkit? In this lesson, we are going to be talking about different things that can make us feel happy in our life.
So let's get ready to begin.
Today's lesson outcome is I can describe the features of a happy life.
Let's begin by taking a look at our ground rules together, and we have some friends here to help us.
Laura says, "We should listen to others." And that means we are not going to interrupt when somebody else is speaking.
Andeep says, "we should respect privacy." And that means if somebody decides to share a story or their own experience that we are not going to repeat it to others outside of this lesson.
Jacob says, "No judgments." And that means if somebody does decide to share a story or their own experience, we are not going to judge them or make comments because of it.
And Izzy says, "Choose your level of participation." And that means you can decide if you simply just want to listen or if you want to share something throughout the lesson.

So emotions are the feelings we have inside, like happiness, sadness, or anger, and physical means relating to your body.

What makes me feel happy? Before we can feel truly happy and content, we need our basic needs to be met first.
Basic needs are the most important things our bodies and minds needs to survive and feel safe.
Our basic needs include food and water to keep our bodies healthy, a safe place to sleep and live, clothes to keep us warm and feeling safe and loved around our families.
When these needs aren't met, it's very difficult to feel happy or concentrate on other things like learning or playing.
Aisha says, "When I'm really hungry, I can't think about anything except food.
It's hard to focus on my work or enjoy playing with friends." Alex says, "I feel much happier and ready to learn when I've had a healthy lunch and things feel good at home." Time for a check for understanding.

These people are called introverts.
However, people can change and everyone needs some time alone and some time with people.
And some people might be a mix of both and introverts and an extrovert, they are called ambiverts.

I love going to different clubs after school and chatting with others." Andeep on the other hand says, "I like having quiet time after school.
