This first revision unit covers all persons of the present and preterite. Pupils strengthen direct objects and modal verbs. They contrast the preterite and imperfect, use imperfect forms of 'estar' with a present participle to discuss actions in progress, and use the preterite for interruptions.

Which verbs are irregular in the imperfect tense?

Write in Spanish: 'you worked and you ate'. Use the preterite.

Write in Spanish: 'he wrote and she celebrated'. Use the imperfect.

Which celebration involves the burning of papier mâché models?

Order the words to say: 'the film will be exciting but the ticket was expensive'.

Write in English: 'en primavera hace frío'.

Write in Spanish: 'we went to the theme park'. Do not include the pronoun.
