In this unit pupils will recognise and use symbols for pounds and pence combining amounts to make particular values. They will solve simple problems including giving change. In the future unit pupils will explain represent and compare whole pounds and pence.  They will convert quantities of money between pounds and pence using the most efficient and reliable strategy to find the change.
