About us

Who we are

We’re here to support great teaching. We’re an independent public body. We work in partnership to improve pupil outcomes and close the disadvantage gap by supporting teachers to teach, and enabling pupils to access a high-quality curriculum.

We share the brilliance of teachers from across the country. We aim to put the best curriculum thinking, the deepest subject expertise and the smartest learning design at your fingertips. With access to this wealth of knowledge, you can make it your own and help your pupils thrive.

From the start of primary, all the way to key stage 4, we provide free access to thousands of teacher-made, fully-resourced lessons to adapt and use with your pupils. During 2023-24, we’re developing and releasing all-new curriculum plans and teaching resources.

From here

Created in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak, we brought together a group of partners committed to supporting schools’ efforts to keep children learning.

To here

In less than two years we've developed 40,000+ resources with the support of 550 teachers and delivered over 150 million lessons in our online Classroom.

And beyond

As the new national body supporting curriculum, we’re working with a diverse range of experts and partners. We’ll identify, create and share fully resourced curriculum models, units and lessons for you to adapt and use with your pupils.

Independent

Oak is by teachers, for teachers. Our board is publicly appointed, and our partners selected through an open process.

Optional

Teachers know their pupils best, so we want them to continue to think deeply about curriculum and choose if and how to use us.

Adaptable

Oak’s resources and curricula will be fully adaptable because no model can suit every teacher or pupil in every context.

Free

Oak will always be free - because access to a great education shouldn’t be based on who can afford to pay.
