Common misconception
Remembering that there are 60 minutes in an hour and the values for quarter, half and three quarters of an hour. Calculations are often to and from 60 when working within an hour rather than 100
Make sure children have a clock face available so that they can visualise the times and see the minute hour hands. Children may find it useful to move the minute hand to count on and back in 5s to support their calculations.
