Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Final designers or mock-ups /prototypes can be tested against the success criteria.
  2. Tablets have a video record function which can record a tour of the features of the playground structure.
  3. Feedback can be given and shared.
  4. Structures can be tested to see how strong and stable they are.
  5. Final products can be displayed with toy figures using the play structures.

Keywords

  • Stable - something that is in place and will not fall over

  • Testing - trying something to see if it works so that changes or improvements can be made

  • Success criteria - a list which helps to see if the object does what it is expected to do

  • Feedback - comments or suggestions on how to improve a product

Common misconception

Feedback and testing can only be completed once the object is made and finished.

Testing and feedback can be a continuous process through the making and designing process. Pupils may reflect on the positives and negatives of any changes made in their final evaluation and feedback.
