Key learning points
- Adjectives ending in -ien become -ienne in the feminine form: canadien-canadienne. The 'e' in -ienne sounds like [è/ê].
- 'Soutenir' (to support) and 'appartenir à' (to belong to) follow the same verb pattern as 'venir'. Je soutiens ...
- The verb 'croire' (to believe) follows the same pattern as 'boire' in its singular form. Je crois, tu crois etc.
- Nationality adjectives can become nouns when used with an article: française - la Française.
- There is no article 'un/une' after 'être' when using nouns to describe identity. Il est Anglais: He is an Englishman.
