Common misconception
That Russia is entirely a harsh, cold, mountainous, barren landscape.
Some parts of Russia do experience a harsh environment, but Russia is the largest country in the world by area, and so it has a diverse range of environments within it from mountains and volcanoes to vast plains and mighty rivers.
