- Add suffix -er to a verb stem to form a male agent noun with equivalent meaning, e.g., 'übersetzen' - 'der Übersetzer'.
- Add the suffix -keit / -heit to adjectives to form feminine nouns meaning -ty or -ness, e.g., 'krank' - 'die Krankheit'.
