Common misconception

Singing at football matches is simply for entertainment at the games. It doesn't have any real significance or importance.

The earliest football chants recorded date back to the 1920s. Singing together has always been an important part of the human experience. Singing helps us to celebrate, express belief in our team and connect with each other. It is very important.

If your class find singing in a two part round tricky, sing in two parts with the audio track instead. Audio = part 1. Your class = part 2. This is a helpful scaffold when singing in two parts. Inviting confident pupils to stand at the front and lead each part can also be a good strategy.
