Key learning points

- Think: choreographing a dance requires careful planning as we link our actions together using imagination.
- Feel: working as a duet or trio requires us to share our ideas which involves courage.
- Connect: watching the work of others by paying attention quietly, shows fairness and helps us to suggest improvements.
Keywords
Choreograph - creating a dance
Perform - sharing your work with others
Transitions - extra actions to help link sections of a dance together
Common misconception
That dance performances do not include repetition of ideas.
Repeating movement material in a dance is similar to the use of a chorus in a song, it emphasises the main idea and prevents the audience from being overwhelmed. Repetitions are usually varied or developed in some way to maintain interest.
