Key learning points
- Move: performing a quality sequence of movements and balances requires flow, control and pointed fingers and toes.
- Think: observing others and making suggestions as to how to improve a sequence demonstrates evaluation and imagination.
- Connect: considering the feelings of others when helping them develop and improve their performance shows empathy.
- Feel: striving to improve your performance and believing in yourself shows courage and will lead to success.
Keywords
Performance - the way you present your sequence in front of an audience, how confident you are, and how smooth your actions are
Evaluate - judging the quality of something you have done or seen
Success - when you consistently practise and improve your performance
Common misconception
Success means performing actions perfectly. Pupils land a jump, and their hands touch the floor.
Success refers to progress relative to a starting point. Any improvements to actions should be viewed as successful. Remind pupils to land with straight backs (not rounded) to help them 'land and stand' when they land a jump.
