Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: dodging into space and using the correct technique improves our chances of scoring in a game situation.
  2. Think: working together to apply tactics is important when trying to score points in a game.
  3. Feel: demonstrating self-belief requires us to work as a team to avoid being tagged.
  4. Connect: when playing as a team, it is important to stick to the rules and play fairly.

Keywords

  • Tactics - a carefully planned set of actions that are used by a team or an individual to achieve a certain goal

  • Team - a group of people who work together with the objective of achieving the same goal

  • Score - the record of the total points earned in a game

Common misconception

Pupils may think that they can only be a good team member if they score lots of points.

Scoring a point means everyone in the team has done their job well, not just the individual who scored. Only some team members need to have the role of scoring points; doing your job well will help the team members whose job it is to score points.
