Common misconception
Some pupils may think that jumping can only be performed in one way for one purpose. For example, a half turn jump is used in gymnastics only.
There are lots of different jumping techniques which can be used in lots of different circumstances. Selecting the most appropriate jumping technique in a game can help you to be successful.
Teacher tip
Encouraging pupils to discuss their chosen techniques and to watch others as they perform different jumps will help them to make appropriate decisions about the techniques they use for different purposes.
