Learning outcome

I can cooperate and communicate well to successfully complete challenges as a team.

Key learning points

  1. Move: moving quickly, with coordination, increases the chance of our team completing challenges.
  2. Think: making effective decisions about tactics to use can help my team complete challenges successfully.
  3. Feel: supporting others during challenges demonstrates courage and honesty.
  4. Connect: showing gratitude to our teammates helps our team to successfully cooperate.
  5. Connect: working effectively as a team to apply strategies enables success in the competition as well as enjoyment.

Keywords

  • Cooperation - working together and helping others to achieve a goal

  • Communication - sharing ideas, thoughts or feelings with others

  • Team - a group of people who work together to reach a goal

Common misconception

Some pupils may think that when they are working in a team, everyone should stay together and do the same thing.

Sometimes, a good tactic to quickly complete a challenge is to split the challenge into smaller tasks and share them out amongst the team. A team can still be working towards the same goal, even if everyone is working separately on different tasks.
