Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: moving quickly and accurately can help us succeed.
  2. Think: concentrating on the task will improve our focus and increase our success.
  3. Feel: following the rules demonstrates honesty when playing against others.
  4. Connect: playing fairly demonstrates good cooperation and enables everyone to enjoy the game.

Keywords

  • Cooperate - working with others to achieve a shared goal

  • Honesty - playing fairly, following the rules and being truthful about your actions

  • Rules - a guide that describes how to play a game

Common misconception

Pupils don't perform the animal actions for a count of 6. Pupils think they have to find the cards for the animal action scavenger hunt in numerical order.

Remind pupils that keeping the rules demonstrates fair play and ensures everyone enjoys the game. Pupils can find and perform the animal action cards in any order.
