Keywords
Tactics - plans you create and use to try to win or succeed
Creating space - making room around you so you or your team can pass and move successfully
Possession - the team in control of the ball
Common misconception
Pupils think that once they have moved into a space, they can stay still and wait for the ball to come to them.
Pupils must be reminded to keep moving, creating angles for passes to the sides of their opposition. If they stand still, it makes it really easy for the defender to mark them.
