Keywords
Court - playing area where a game or sport is played
Accuracy - the ability to control where we hit an object
Power - using your muscles more quickly and forcefully
Common misconception
When throwing underarm, pupils often struggle to release the ball so it travels forward towards the target. Pupils may forget to have their hands up ready to catch the the ball.
Encourage pupils to develop a smooth arm swing when throwing towards a target and finish with a straight arm pointing in the direction of their target. Remind pupils to adopt the ready position with hands up in front of them when waiting to catch.
