Keywords
Leader - a person who guides, inspires and unites teammates towards achieving a common goal
Non-verbal communication - exchanging information without speaking, using gestures, body language or facial expressions
Team - a group of people who work together with the objective of achieving the same goal
Common misconception
Pupils believe talking loudly or shouting is how they should communicate as a leader.
Explain to pupils that shouting instructions isn’t the same as giving clear, helpful directions. As well as this, good communication works both ways and leaders should allow their teammates opportunities to speak too.
