Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: we need to move as fast as we can because the fastest team will win the course.
  2. Think: thinking tactically and using ‘powers’ effectively can give us an advantage over other pairs.
  3. Think: making effective decisions to plan the route in a logical order helps us complete the course in a fast time.
  4. Feel: in a competition, striving for our best and not letting our emotions affect our performance leads to success.
  5. Connect: a successful pair completing the course needs to stay together, listen to each other and encourage one another.

Keywords

  • Course - the specific path or route that we navigate through to complete the activity, made up of checkpoints

  • Compete - the process or act of trying to win

  • Partner - someone who collaborates or works together with another person towards a common goal

Common misconception

Pupils rush off without planning a logical route, leading to wasted time or missed checkpoints.

Ensure pupils allow time to plan their route with their partner and that they understand the value in doing this.
