Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: speed and balance are important skills when trying to complete challenges quickly.
  2. Think: understanding our role within a team and collaborating with our team members helps to ensure we are successful.
  3. Think: thinking tactically and considering ways to improve our performances in the challenges requires problem solving.
  4. Feel: taking on responsibility and leading others within our team demonstrates excellent self-motivation.
  5. Connect: encouraging others through effective collaboration and communication improves our ability to work as a team.

Keywords

  • Tactics - a carefully planned set of actions that are used by a team or an individual to achieve a certain goal

  • Collaborate - to work together with one or more people to achieve a common goal

  • Role - a set of responsibilities that we carry out as part of a team

Common misconception

Pupils believe that teams are only successful if they score the most points or win against their opposition.

Scoring the most points or goals is one way you can measure success. Including all team members, playing fairly and improving are all equally important ways of being successful when competing.
