Common misconception
Pupils believe that teams are only successful if they score the most points or win against their opposition.
Scoring the most points or goals is one way you can measure success. Including all team members, playing fairly and improving are all equally important ways of being successful when competing.
Teacher tip
Look to praise and award points (treasure) to pupils and teams that are demonstrating effective teamwork where all members of the team are working together and being valued.
