Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: reacting quickly and moving fast helps us to successfully complete the challenges.
  2. Think: a successful team communicates, listens, shares ideas and supports each other when we make mistakes.
  3. Feel: communicating and cooperating with our teammates, even when we lose a challenge, shows resilience and integrity.
  4. Connect: listening to each other's ideas and communicating with one another respectfully shows excellent cooperation.

Keywords

  • Communication - exchanging information, ideas, thoughts or feelings

  • Listening - paying attention to information received from our teammates

  • Cooperation - working together towards a common goal or purpose

Common misconception

Pupils believe that effective communication only involves speaking clearly to someone.

Ensure pupils understand that communication works two ways. Speaking clearly is important, however listening attentively is equally important to ensure the information is received.
