      Key learning points

      1. Move: to complete the challenges in the quickest time, we have to react quickly and move efficiently.
      2. Think: a successful leader needs to communicate clearly, giving clear instructions to their teammates.
      3. Think: when completing challenges, we have to solve problems as a team by communicating and thinking tactically.
      4. Feel: not giving up after a mistake in the challenge demonstrates resilience and perseverance.
      5. Connect: leading by example, trusting teammates and understanding our role, increases success in completing challenges.

      Common misconception

      Pupils believe that leadership means being the boss and that they should be the only ones with ideas.

      Leadership is about guiding and supporting others, not dominating. True leaders listen, include others and delegate responsibilities.

      The activities in this lesson can either be completed as timed activities or races. Repeating timed activities creates opportunities to recognise how improved cooperation and collaboration within a team can improve the performance and success of a team regardless of the opposition.
