- Think: returning the ball/shuttle quickly and into space reduces your opponent's time to recover from the last shot.

Common misconception
Pupils use short steps and run through as they hit the shuttle which leaves them out of position for the next shot.
Using long lunges and recovering back to the middle of the court quickly between each shot reduces the space and options available to your opposition.
