Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: rapid hip and knee flexion enables you to duck and avoid capture.
  2. Move: controlled slow and steady movements will help us stay in time with others.
  3. Think: adjusting plans in response to the opposition's actions improves our chance of success.
  4. Feel: stretching yourself beyond your comfort zone helps develop confidence in situations.
  5. Connect: we must sometimes take the lesser roles to secure overall success by the team.

Keywords

  • Strategy - a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim

  • Contribution - the part played by a person in achieving the overall result

  • Pacing - the controlled speed and rhythm of our movements

Common misconception

All players are desperate to get the opposition's treasure so they have a high risk of getting caught and neglecting the protection of their own treasure.

Let pupils do it however they like first but then give time to regroup and plan a smarter team strategy.
