- Move: defending from your knees on the edge of the ‘D’ helps to get low and retrieve a shot.
- Think: catching the ball mid-air uses up 1 step as you land, or 2 if you land with both feet simultaneously.
- Feel: integrity requires adhering to ethical principles/standards, even when it is challenging or may hinder winning.
- Connect: signals, verbal cues and team talks enable a team to work together effectively.

Common misconception
Pupils think a short is associated with the height of a shot.
A short is when a shot misses the rebound frame completely. It results in a fault and change of possession with the defenders restarting play from behind the baseline.
