Rules are there to stop us from doing things.
Many rules are designed to keep us safe.
Teacher tip
Use real life examples from the pupil’s own lives, like classroom rules, playground rules, or rules at home. Act out or tell short, simple stories with a rule being followed or broken. Then, discuss the scenario and ask pupils how they would respond.
