Key learning points

  1. Any vowel with a written accent is stressed. For words ending in vowels, -n or -s, stress the penultimate syllable.
  2. For all other words, stress the final syllable.
  3. Learning new vocabulary helps develop your understanding and comprehension.
  4. Many Spanish infinitives end in -ar; they are called-ar verbs.
  5. To say 'she, he' with -ar verbs, remove the -ar ending and add -a. To say 'they', remove the -ar ending and add -an.

Common misconception

Only syllables in words with written accents should be stressed.
