Key learning points
- Use the affirmative imperative to tell somebody to do something or to give instructions.
- For 'vosotros' commands, use -ad for -ar verbs, -ed for -er and -id for -ir verbs. This is the affirmative imperative.
- The final -d of reflexive plural imperative verbs is dropped and -os is added, e.g. '¡callaos!' - 'be quiet!' (you pl).
- The BORDER acronym is a useful tool to respond fully and accurately to bullet point writing prompts.
Keywords
Imperative - form of verbs used to give instructions or commands
BORDER - acronym used to respond fully and accurately to bullet point writing prompts
Common misconception
I can only use BORDER for short pieces of writing.
BORDER is also a very useful strategy for extended pieces of writing. Simply apply it to each paragraph separately. This will help you respond clearly and completely to each bullet point.
