Common misconception

Simply re-reading without purpose doesn't necessarily lead to better comprehension. Strategies such as reading through the text and questions, using each question to find the relevant part of the text, avoiding distractors, etc., are more effective.
Teacher tip
Encourage students to identify gaps in their vocabulary knowledge using words from this revision lesson. All vocabulary comes from the GCSE word list and has been previously taught, making this a good check of retention and areas needing more practice.
Equipment
