Pupils may incorrectly arrange the dividend or divisor and quotient.
Clear modelling. Ask children 'What does this number represent?' - 'The dividend and it is placed inside the division frame.'
It can be useful to know multiplication facts. Begin by playing short games of multiplication and make links to the inverse. For example: 'If I know 10 × 6 = 60 then I also know 60 ÷ 10 = 6'
