Common misconception
Pupils may just copy out the words from their plans.
Explicitly model reading your plan and turning those notes into full sentences. This will also be modelled in Learning Cycle 1 where the children orally rehearse their sentences.
Print out the images of the opening so your pupils write their sentences next to that particular image. This will help them to structure their narrative opening correctly.
