Why this why now
Outcomes in this unit are expressive and open ended, which is an important concept in art. This unit challenges the idea that there should be a single outcome or a ‘right’ way to complete the task. By emphasising creative explorations and original thought this unit demonstrates that there are no right or wrong ways to portray a subject.
Prior knowledge requirements
- Pupils can draw simple shapes such as circles and ovals effectively.
- Pupils understand that everyday objects can be represented using drawing.
- Pupils can hold a pencil comfortably using an appropriate grip.
