Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. The success of a project can be measured against the design criteria.
  2. A good vehicle travels in a straight line.
  3. A good vehicle travels a long distance.
  4. I can test and evaluate my vehicle against my design specification.

Keywords

  • Vehicle - a machine with wheels used for transporting people or goods

  • Testing - trying something to see if it works and to make changes or improvement to it

  • Success criteria - a list which helps to see if the object does what it is expected to do

  • Evaluate - checking how good something is and how to make it better

  • Feedback - comments or suggestions on how to improve a product

Common misconception

Completed vehicles are finished and therefore will not need any changes or alterations neeeded to them.

Testing and feedback is a good way to spot any problems with the vehicles and therefore time to correct, adapt and alter specific parts of the finished product and demonstrates that products always need reviewing and adapting to make them work.
