Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Compound shapes can be reflected using the Mirror tool.
  2. 3D shapes can be aligned accurately using the Align tools.
  3. Combining compound shapes form complex shapes

Keywords

  • Mirror - flip a shape accross a fixed line

  • Rotate - turn a shape around a fixed point

  • Align - arrange shapes in order

  • Complex shapes - shapes made of many different shapes, including combining compound shapes

Common misconception

Mirror is the same as rotate.

Rotating complex or compound shapes will not always have the same outcome as when mirroring a shape.
