This unit uses and builds on learning from the Year 4 grammar unit 'Review of determiners, prepositions and fronted adverbials', where determiners and preposition phrases were taught for the first time and fronted adverbials were reviewed in detail. New learning in this unit includes two more determiners - quantifiers and demonstratives - and further consolidation of fronted adverbials of time, place and manner. This unit prepares pupils for more critical review in the Year 6 grammar unit 'Key terminology, including determiners, fronted adverbials and parenthesis'.
