Key learning points
- The SSCs [an], [en], [am] and [em] make the same sound: enfant, ensemble, chambre
- In English, we use ordinal numbers with dates (27th), in French we use cardinal numbers (27).
- When saying a date in French, we use 'le' before the number to say (on) the: c'est le trois avril.
- 'Quel' and 'quelle' mean 'which'. They match the gender of the noun they refer to: c'est quel jour / quelle date ?
- 'Quel' and 'quelle' are often translated into English more naturally as 'what'.
