Key learning points
- We use the verb 'avoir' ('to have') when saying ages in French, e.g. 'j’ai neuf ans'.
- 'J'ai' means 'I have', 'je suis' means 'I am'.
- Months of the year are cognates in French and English.
- In French, adjectives often go after the noun, e.g. 'les yeux bleus'.
- Adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun they describe (adjective agreement), e.g. 'les cheveux bouclés'.

Common misconception
