Common misconception
To form the present tense of 'prendre' in the 1st and 2nd persons plural, remove -re from the infinitive to get the stem.
To get the stem for the plural forms of 'prendre' in the present tense, you also need to drop the 'd' before adding the correct endings.
Teacher tip
Don't be afraid to overexaggerate pronunciation of the [r] to emphasize that it's a sound which doesn't exist in English. If students enjoy the tongue twister activity, you'll find many more by doing a quick internet search.
