- [é/er/ez] is pronounced as in 'écrire'.
- Some adjectives follow different patterns. 'Naturel' is 'naturelle' in the feminine form and 'heureux' is 'heureuse'.
- There are many cognates in French which can be used to infer meaning of surrounding words and understand context.
- Cognates may look very similar to English but sound quite different so attention must be paid to pronunciation.

Common misconception
