Key learning points
- Reflexive pronouns enable us to express an action done to oneself or two or more subjects acting upon one another.
- Infinitives of reflexive verbs are always preceded by se or s’. Choose the correct pronoun when conjugating the verb.
- The negative component 'ne' goes before the reflexive pronoun. 'Pas' goes after the verb.
- Extend answers by giving and justifying opinions and using a variety of adjectives, adverbs, pronouns and intensifiers.

Common misconception
Reflexive pronouns are only used to talk about actions done to oneself.
Reflexive pronouns are also used with verbs to indicate a reciprocal (shared) action between two or more subjects. Verbs can only be reciprocal with plural subjects, i.e. 'nous', 'vous' and 'ils/elles'.
