Common misconception
There is a separate word for 'will' in French when talking about the future.
The spelling of a verb in the 1-verb future form contains the idea of 'will' + verb e.g. il visitera = he will visit.
Teacher tip
After revising all the 1-verb future forms of the irregular verbs, teachers might find it useful to do some quick-fire mini-whiteboard verb practice with their class starting from French to English e.g. elle ira - she will go and then moving to English to French e.g. nous ferons - we will do.
