- In a role play, it is important to include at least one verb in each phrase. You must also ask one question.

Common misconception
The present tense in German can only be used to refer to the present.
The present tense can also be used with appropriate adverbs of time to refer to the near future, e.g., 'Am Samstag spiele ich Tennis.'.
Teacher tip
As a follow-on to completing the role play task in pairs, students might enjoy creating their own role play prompts within the context of the lesson. Higher candidates could also add a bullet point requiring the past tense.
