      Lesson details

      Learning outcome

I can estimate the position of multiples of ten on a 0 - 100 number line.

      Key learning points

      1. There are ten jumps of ten on a line from 0 to 100
      2. The multiples of ten are equally spaced.
      3. Knowledge of counting to ten can help you count in tens to 100

      Keywords

      • Estimate - To find a value that is close enough to the right answer, usually with some thought or calculation involved.

      • Number line - A line showing numbers in their correct positions relative to one another. It can be horizontal or vertical and can be marked or unmarked.

Encourage children to mark the midpoint and equally space the numbers by using fingers or an object to space them out.
