Equal - Equal means having exactly the same amount or value.
Group - A group is a collection of objects or images.
Share - Share means to split into parts.
Common misconception
Pupils may struggle to identify grouping and sharing structures.
Model the problem visually, using manipulatives such as cubes, counters and numbers lines. Alongside this, present these problems as division equations, discussing with the pupils what each number means.
