- For a number to be divisible by three, the dgit sum of the number must be a divisible by 3
- For a number to be divisible by 6, it must be divisible by both 2 and 3
- If you halve a number and the digit sum of the half is a multiple of 3 then the number is divisible by 6

Divisible / divisibility - Divisibility is when division of a number results in another whole number. A number is divisible by another if it can be shared exactly with no remainder.
Multiple - A multiple is the result of multiplying a number by another whole number.
Common misconception
Pupils may find it difficult to solve problems or misunderstand questions.
Model clearly how to identify key phrases and words which will identify the operation and equation required for word problems. This could involve drawing bar models or other representations.
