Key learning points
- Performing is sharing our best work with an audience to entertain them.
- We can convey stories and meanings of songs by the way we sing and perform them.
- Warming up effectively helps us to be ready to perform
- We can put our song in context by using a script
- Reflecting on our performance help us see how we are developing as musicians and performers.
Keywords
Performance - a work that is presented to an audience
Script - the written text containing the story of a play, musical or film

Common misconception
Once we've performed, then we've finished and don't need to carry on reflecting on our work.
Watching a performance back, and/or reflecting on our performance is useful because it gives us an opportunity to realise and appreciate the various skills we've been learning, using and building on. We can also see what we'd do better next tiime.
